first ever massage or a seasoned Pro
you still may have some questions so have a look to see if I’ve answered it below
Does it have to hurt to work?
No, in fact if I’m hurting you a lot there is a good chance the area I’m working on is so tensed up I won’t actually be able to provide the help you’re looking for.
I’m super ticklish or way too sensitive to be touched, so maybe massage isn’t for me?
Me too! but we can work around this, different levels of pressure or speeds work for each of us, so we can work together to find that perfect combo that won’t have you giggling off the table.
What do I wear?
When I’m not working on an area, it will be draped, so feel free to get undressed to your level of comfort, that being said if you want feet work, leaving your socks on is going to make it less effective. But if you’re really pushing for an answer, most people take everything off or just leave their underwear on.
What do I need to do before the appointment?
Fill in the intake form so I can look over it throughly, be sure to let me know if there is anything specific you want me to focus on.
Anything to avoid before hand?
You know your own body, personally I wouldn’t eat a big meal right before, but then some folks may be absolutely fine.
What’s the difference between a masseuse and a massage therapist?
The term masseuse is a French word that refers to a female who practices massage. (Males in the industry were known as masseurs.) However, due to certain connotations (as well as the need for more gender neutral terminology), both male and female massage practitioners go by the term “massage therapist”.
How old do you have to be to get a massage?
There is no minimum age for massage, although anyone under the age of 18 needs to have their parent or guardian in the room for the whole session
What States are you able to practice in?
I am currently licensed to practice in PA and NJ. License Number MSG015738
